1st Ship Unloader Successfully On The Rails

Jepara, 12th November 2019 – PT. Bhumi Jati Power (hereinafter “BJP”) as the project company of Tanjung Jati B Unit 5 & 6 Project (hereinafter the “Project”) was pleased to announce that 1st coal ship unloader has successfully been placed on the rails at the power station’s coal unloading jetty.

Tanjung Jati Unit 5&6 is the 1st power station in Indonesia to introduce a continuous bucket type ship unloader, which can unload the station’s coal supply vessels more quickly and efficiently than an intermittent grab type ship unloader. The ship unloader, which was fully assembled at the manufacturer’s factory in Taiwan prior to shipping to Indonesia, is the single biggest cargo of the Project reaching a height of 37.3 meters and weighing 1,258 metric tons.  During the one week trip from Taiwan by a dedicated vessel, the utmost care was taken to transport the giant structure followed by unloading work at the jetty which was meticulously planned and conducted.

Site Project Manager of BJP, Mr. Hadi commented “Thanks to the God in the morning calm sea, weather condition was permissive and everything was going well.  The steady lifting up of the ship unloader from the vessel and transfer “on base” to its rails at the jetty wharf were successfully and safely achieved. The lifting itself took approximately 1 hour 20 minutes while the preparation needed 1.5 days, which is giving a clear message that well preparation, accurate calculation and good coordination will bring smooth and good quality results of our work. To the same, we wish the 2nd ship unloader delivery planned in early December 2019 will also be successful“.
