Backfeeding Has Successfully Been Achieved
Jepara, 11th November 2019 - PT. Bhumi Jati Power (hereinafter “BJP”) as the project company of Tanjung Jati B Unit 5 & 6 Project (hereinafter the “Project”) was pleased to announce that backfeeding to the power plant had successfully been achieved. Subsequent to energization of the 500kV transmission line between PLN’s electricity grid and our power plant on 8th November, the gas insulated switchgear at the station’s 500kV switchyard and the Unit 5 Generator Transformer were energized on 9th and 10th November respectively. This achievement enables the plant to receive electricity from the grid and enables the commencement of commissioning of the power stations main equipment.
Backfeeding was one of the most important milestones in 2019 for the Project, however it was successfully achieved despite many challenges including numerous coordination matters with the multiple related parties, some delays in construction and procurement of the necessary facilities and systems, etc.
Site Project Manager of BJP, Mr. Hadi, with a sense of pride in this achievement, commented “ First of all I would like to sincerely deliver great thanks to all the team members of BJP and Owner’s Engineer, EPC Contractors including In-House Engineer team and subcontractors, plus the related divisions in PLN including PLNTJB, for all the hard efforts pouring their thinking and energy, bonding in good cooperation to make this milestone achieved in a timely manner. This milestone brings the Project into the next phase i.e. transitioning from the construction phase to the commissioning phase, where sub-systems will first be tested and operated, progressing then to the high-order systems which will gradually commence to be operated.
We will strive to achieve the key milestones, step-by-step, to realize the commencement of commercial operation in 2021 on schedule, as always “Working together for working better“.
