Celebration of National OHS Month in Tanjung Jati B Unit 5 & 6 (JAWA 4) Project
Jepara, 12th February 2020 - In regards to celebrate the National Occupational Health Safety (OHS) Month 2020, which is held every 12th January – 12th February every year, Tanjung Jati B Unit 5 & 6 Project (hereinafter the “Project”) hold various events aimed to increase the participation from all the related parties in the Project in efforts to increase OHS culture in the Project. The National OHS Month 2020 celebration began with the opening ceremony held on 13th January 2020, which was attended by representatives of PT. Bhumi Jati Power (hereinafter “BJP”) as the project company, Joint Operation of Sumitomo Corporation and PT Wasa Mitra Engineering (JOSW) as the EPC contractor, all lot contractors and Pengawas Ketenagakerjaan (Manpower Inspector) in Jepara Regency.
As the series of activities in the National OHS Month 2020 celebration, OHS Management System seminar, Safety Talk competition, Take 5 competition, Ranking 1 competition, Emergency Response Team in Action competition, health awareness seminars, blood donations, aerobics, basic firefighting training have been conducted. In correlation with the theme of National OHS Month 2020 celebration which was “Optimization of OHS Cultural Independence in Industrial Revolution 4.0 based on Information Technology”, the Project also conducted Safety Short Movie Competition, in which the purpose is to increase the creativity of each parties to promote OHS utilizing information technology.
The National OHS Month 2020 celebration of our Project were not only aimed for workers in the Project but also for high school students in Bangsri and Kembang Districts. The objective of the agenda was to introduce the Project, the power plant process, awareness of the dangers of illegal drugs and the importance of maintaining reproductive health to high school students.
The closing ceremony of National OHS Month 2020 celebration was held on 12th February, and attended by the Head of Jepara Manpower Agency in addition to the attendees in the opening ceremony. In the closing ceremony, Mr. Hadi Suwasono as the Site Project Manager of BJP, conveyed the message in his speech that the improvement of OHS culture should not be stopped even though National OHS Month celebration finished, but should be a continues process which will be implemented in daily activities of the Project.
