Initial Coal Receiving has successfully been achieved


Jepara, 2nd February 2021 – PT. Bhumi Jati Power (hereinafter “BJP”) as the project company of Tanjung Jati B Unit 5 & 6 Project (hereinafter the “Project”) was pleased to announce that the initial coal receiving had successfully been achieved.

72,000 metric tons of coal was transported from East Kalimantan Island by MV Lumoso Sayang (kamsarmax vessel) which is dedicated vessel for the Project having fully enclosed hatch of cargo. Subsequent to the arrival at BJP Special Port, coal vessel was berthed using tug boat to coal unloading jetty and coal was unloaded by continuous bucket type ship unloader.

Initial coal receiving was one of the most important milestones for the Project, which enables the plant to start the commissioning using coal. It was successfully achieved thanks to support from all stakeholders including government authorities and local communities, despite there were many challenges under this COVID-19 pandemic situation.

Site Project Manager of BJP, Mr. Hadi, with a sense of pride in this achievement, commented “Thank you and highly appreciated to ALL for every thinking and effort that have been poured together as a reflection of everyone’s ownership to the Project in achieving milestones. Having faced hard time in year 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic which impacted to some activities of Project, the smooth and successful berthed MV Lumoso Sayang to coal unloading jetty for the 1st coal delivery in the early 2021 year as one of milestone achievement is giving everyone in the Project a kind of stimulus, a medicine of the pain to strengthen our motivation that “Yes, together we can achieve more”.
