TJB 5&6 will adopt the USC coal combustion technology, which is considered one of the best available technologies in the field of pulverized coal-fired power plants.

USC technology yields higher efficiencies in the steam thermal cycle, which reduces the consumption of coal as compared to other technologies.

Consequently, both total and specific CO2 emissions (i.e., ton CO2/year and ton CO2/kWh, respectively) can be substantially reduced by employing the USC technology. Utilization of the advanced technology also shows the company’s commitment for environment to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions.
