BEST Program Vol. 2: Strengthening Harmony, Unlocking Opportunities

Jepara, 12th February 2026 – PT Bhumi Jati Power, hereinafter (“BJP”), successfully conducted a series of events for the BJP English Skill Training Program Vol. 2 (“BEST Program”), which commenced on 6th January 2026 and ended on 12th February 2026. This program was initiated by the BJP in collaboration with Universitas Islam Nahdlatul Ulama Jepara (“UNISNU”).

The BEST Program is designed to enhance English proficiency among the citizens of Jepara Regency, particularly to support the youth preparing to enter the workforce. Throughout the program, participants received intensive learning lessons aligned with the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) framework, complemented by practical strategies to build self-confidence through active speaking exercises. To elevate the speaking experience, the BJP integrated native speakers into its intensive sessions on this year’s BEST Program.

Participants Selection

Participant selection took place from 18 to 22 December 2025. Interest in this year’s BEST Program increased compared with last year, with more than 110 participants submitting the forms.

UNISNU then conducted an initial assessment to determine the top 40 candidates. Next, UNISNU administered a pre-test and interviews for the 40 participants. For the final stage, the BJP and UNISNU jointly selected the best 20 candidates to join the intensive class program.

Intensive Learning Class

The intensive learning class began with an opening ceremony on 6th January 2026. Over the course of 16 interactive learning sessions, participants explored grammar, reading, listening, and speaking. Several sessions featured native English speakers, enhancing participants’ practical listening and speaking abilities. The program emphasized engaging and participatory learning methods, helping participants strengthen their communication skills and express their ideas with confidence.

Harmony in Culture Night

At the conclusion of the BEST Program, BJP hosted a cultural night themed “Harmony in Culture”. The event took place on 12th February 2026 and was attended by 20 program participants, BJP Management, and representatives from UNISNU. The culture night also welcomed four international students from India, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, and Syria.

This cultural night event opened with remarks from Mr. Abdul Djamil, Rector of UNISNU. He emphasized, “English is important, not only for young people but for everyone in Jepara. Why? Because Jepara is known worldwide for its furniture industry, and English enables us to communicate with people from other countries”.

Following that, Mr. Hadi Suwasono, Project Company Representative of BJP, encouraged participants to take pride in their English abilities and recognize their potential. He emphasized that mastering English is not just a skill but a gateway to broader opportunities. He concluded his remarks by recalling a famous quote by Indonesia’s first president, Soekarno. “Give me 1,000 elders, and I will move Semeru Mount from its roots. But give me 10 youths, and surely, I will shake the world.”

Following the speech, Mr. Ichiro Usui, as the General Manager of Planning and Coordination at PT Bhumi Jepara Service, shared meaningful insights from his experience. He explained that English has played a vital role in his international career, enabling him to work in four countries, connect with diverse cultures, and overcome professional challenges. He also highlighted that Indonesia’s strong future potential, including projections that its economy may surpass Japan’s by 2050, and encouraged students to see themselves as future global leaders. He emphasized that mastering English is key to unlocking international opportunities and ended with a motivational message encouraging participants to keep learning, dream big, and believe in a bright future.

At the end of the cultural night event, all participants, together with the international students, showcased their cross-cultural communication skills through various performances and presentations. The event became a memorable experience, highlighting the spirit of collaboration and global engagement. Through this initiative, the BJP reaffirmed its strong commitment to the educational and training programs for youth in Jepara Regency. This long-term commitment reflects the BJP’s dedication to supporting educational development through meaningful collaboration with all stakeholders.
