A New Milestone in Sustainable Energy
April 2026 — PT Bhumi Jati Power (BJP) is proud to announce it has been awarded the Green PROPER rating by the Ministry of Environment (KLH) for the 2024-2025 assessment period. This achievement marks a significant milestone in the plant’s roadmap, advancing from a Blue rating in the previous two periods to "Beyond Compliance" status in its third year of operation, from September 2022.
This achievement was driven by a structured transformation. To bridge the gap from compliance to excellence, BJP established a dedicated Green PROPER Task Force and developed a comprehensive Green PROPER Road Map. These foundational steps provided the strategic framework and cross-departmental synergy required to implement the "Beyond Compliance" programs that define Green PROPER status today.
A Journey of Rapid Progress
Transitioning from a Blue rating—which signifies full compliance with environmental regulations—to a Green rating demonstrates that the plant has successfully implemented internal environmental management systems, energy efficiency, and community empowerment programs that exceed legal requirements, contributing to broader environmental and social impacts. This rating also confirms that our operational strategy is aligned with global sustainability trends and the Indonesian government's mission for a greener future, while strengthening the company’s credibility and competitiveness through enhanced environmental performance.
Operational Excellence & Resource Efficiency
Our journey to Green PROPER was built on a foundation of measurable impact and backed by rigorous data and a commitment to the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology, evaluating our environmental impact from "Cradle-to-Grave." Key performance highlights from the 2024-2025 period include:
- Carbon Footprint Reduction: We successfully mitigated 1,852.09-ton CO2-e. Our technical optimizations also led to a reduction of 1.73 tons of SO2 and 1.00 ton of NOx, ensuring good quality air for our surrounding environment.
- Energy & Water Stewardship: Through innovative process engineering, we achieved energy savings of 207,275.67 GJ and conserved 238,371.25 m3 of water through innovative water efficiency programs.
- Waste Transformation: Achieved a massive recovery of 218,601.43 tons of non-hazardous (Non-B3) waste and 149.7 tons of hazardous (B3) waste through 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) initiatives.
Biodiversity and Community Empowerment
Beyond the technical metrics, we believe in thriving alongside our ecosystem. Sustainability at PT Bhumi Jati Power extends beyond the plant walls. Our commitment to the local ecosystem was recognized by the Balai Besar Perikanan Budidaya Air Payau for our contributions to biodiversity increment.
Furthermore, our social initiatives were honoured with a 4-Star TOP CSR Award, reflecting our dedication to the "Bhumi Jati Power" (BJP) programs that foster economic resilience and social welfare in our host communities.

In the 2024–2025 PROPER assessment, more than 5,400 companies participated, yet only 243 were awarded the Green rating. This underscores that achieving ‘Beyond Compliance’ requires more than meeting regulatory requirements—it demands consistent improvements in environmental management, resource efficiency, and community impact.
At BJP, we have approached PROPER as a framework to strengthen our operational practices. Through systematic improvements, we have enhanced our environmental performance and integrated these efforts into our day-to-day operations.
