Jepara Innovation Award (JIA) Vol. 2 – Empowering Young Innovators, Transforming Jepara
Jepara, 10 February 2026 – PT Bhumi Jati Power (BJP) has successfully conducted a series of events of Jepara Innovation Award Program Volume 2 (JIA Program Vol. 2) since October 2025, and it has reached the final round on 10 February 2026. This JIA Program Vol. 2 is a part of a collaboration program among BJP, Universitas Islam Nahdlatul Ulama Jepara, and the Regional Development Planning, Research, and Innovation Agency of Jepara Regency.
The JIA Program Vol. 2 represents the BJP’s strategic Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment under its Education and Training pillar, focusing on education and youth empowerment. Designed as an innovation-based scholarship competition, the program encourages students to transform creative ideas into tangible prototypes that address real-world challenges, particularly those relevant to Jepara’s local context.
The series of activities for the JIA Program Vol. 2 began with the socialization on 08 October 2025, attended by 94 schools from Jepara Regency. After the socialization, the JIA Program Vol. 2 committee received 98 proposals. The judges then selected 40 of 98 proposals to follow the workshop on 17 December 2025. The best 12 of 40 proposals were then selected and followed the grand final event to show and present the prototype.
CSR Manager Mr. Ari Wibawa stated that the JIA Program Vol. 2 reflects BJP’s long-term commitment to nurturing a competitive, creative, and solution-oriented generation. “We are truly proud that the Jepara’s students can develop their ideas and innovation through the JIA Program Vol. 2. It is important to remember that innovation is not always about technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) but can also come from simple ideas that can solve the problems surrounding us”.
The Rector of UNISNU Jepara, Mr. Abdul Djamil, also delivered the same appreciation. He emphasized that the innovative spirit of Jepara's young generation is rooted in the values of courage passed down from Jepara's historical figure. He also stated the importance of emulating countries that consistently foster innovation.
“We shall continuously grow our ideas through seeing and observing the other countries' technology, like Japan. We highly appreciate the participants' courage in generating fresh ideas and innovations. Innovative products are born from a long and consistent process”. He said.
Innovation from the younger generation is the cornerstone of Jepara Regency's development direction. This was emphasized by Jepara Regent Witiarso Utomo, through the Head of the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP), Mr. Arif Darmawan.
Mr. Arif Darmawan stated that the Regency Government places innovation as part of its strategic regional development policies. The JIA is expected to foster regional innovators, particularly among high school and vocational school students. "We prioritize innovation as the key to change. We hope the JIA Program Vol. 2 will be a tool for nurturing regional innovators and should be a space for fostering, appreciating, and testing ideas to address the real challenges of Jepara's development," he said.
