Mangrove Planting Expansion Towards Stakeholders' Collaborative Initiatives

Jepara, 5th May 2026 – PT Bhumi Jati Power, hereinafter (“BJP”), successfully conducted an expansion of the Mangrove Planting Program activity (“Mangrove Planting Program”) in Tanggultlare, Kedung Sub-District, Jepara Regency. This program was initiated by the BJP in close collaboration with the Tanggultlare Government (“PEMDES”) and the Tourism Awareness Group Tanggul Samudro (“POKDARWIS”).

The BJP’s Mangrove Planting Program in 2026 represents a continuation and expansion of the initiative that began in 2023, demonstrating the BJP’s ongoing commitment to supporting the restoration of sustainable coastal ecosystems in Tanggultlare Village. As of May 2026, approximately 3,000 new mangrove seeds have been planted as part of ongoing expansion initiatives.

Mangrove Planting Expansion

This initiative is part of the developed grand milestone by the BJP in the Mangrove Planting Program. Since 2023 up to 2025, the BJP has planted more than 35,000 mangrove seeds in 2 hectares area. In 2026, the program is being expanded in the new location covering approximately 0.5 hectares, with an annual target of planting up to 10,000 mangrove seeds. In the mangrove planting expansion activity, POKDARWIS plays a key role in engaging and organizing community participation in field activities, while PEMDES is responsible for administrative support, oversight, and ensuring program implementation aligns with community and village goals.

To ensure the program’s sustainability, BJP is also enhancing its nursery operations by improving facilities and increasing capacity from 10,000 to 30,000 seeds. These improvements also include installing informational boards to support education and awareness.

The nursery not only serves as a reliable source for planting requirements but also creates economic opportunities for POKDARWIS. Through this initiative, POKDARWIS can generate additional income by supplying and selling mangrove seeds to other parties.
